Plow men dig my earth |

nóng fū men suí biàn páo wā wǒ de tǔ dì, |

None will level on the line |
|
Nobody of it is worth" |
|
tā men dāng zhōng méi yǒu rén zhī dào zhèi xiē dōng xī de jià zhí" |

xiǎo tōu màn yōu yōu dì shuō dào, |

" xǔ duō rén dōu zhī dào shēng huó běn shēn jiù shì yí gè xiào huà. |

dàn shì nǐ wǒ zǎo jiù guò le nà gè jiē duàn le, |

zhè bú shì wǒ men de mìng |

suǒ yǐ wǒ men bié jiǎ zhuāng tòng kǔ le, |

shí jiān yǐ jīng bù zǎo le." |

All along the watchtower |

yán zhe liào wàng tǎ, |

Princes kept the view |
|
wáng zǐ men zhèng zài sì chù zhāng wàng |

While all the women came and went |
|
nǚ rén men lái lái qù qù, |
|
Barefoot servants too, |
|
hái yǒu xǔ duō chì jiǎo de pú rén |
|
Outside in the distance |
|
A wild cat did growl |
|
yuǎn chù yì zhī yě māo fā chū liǎo bù xiáng de jiào shēng, |
|
Two riders were approachin' |
|
liǎng gè qí mǎ de rén jiàn jiàn zǒu jìn, |
|
And the wind began to howl |
|
sì zhōu wéi kuáng fēng hū xiào. |
