You know what's interesting about this whole idea of this, this, this intolerance |
| [00:03.43] |
and this hate, and this terrorism thing, |
| [00:05.36] |
I, I noticed from the debate the other, the other day from, |
| [00:08.12] |
it wasn't the debate actually |
| [00:08.98] |
It was this conversation he had |
| [00:10.22] |
It was this woman who said to McCain "Obama is an Arab" (right), |
| [00:14.91] |
and he said "No no no m'am he's not an Arab" |
| [00:17.30] |
Oh I though this is wonderful he's repudiating this kind of intolerance and hatred |
| [00:21.08] |
He said "No no he's not an Arab, he's a good man" (right) (Laughter) |
| [00:24.48] |
(He said he's a decent citizen) |
| [00:25.39] |
Hold on, what if I said to you, what if someone said "I heard he is a Jew" |
| [00:28.99] |
and I said ""No no he's not a Jew, he's alright" (Laughter and Applause) |
| [00:32.70] |
"I hear the guy's a catholic", "Catholic? No, he's a, good decent guy" (right, yeah) |
| [00:37.22] |
Arab and good person are not antithetical as to one another (right, that's that was) (Applause) |
| [00:41.62] |
This idea of, this prejudice that we've allowed to fester in this campaign |
| [00:48.53] |
where this, we've allowed this idea where, denying the fact that Obama, who yet is not an Arab, |
| [00:53.88] |
nor is he a Muslim, we've allowed that denial to turn into the acceptance of both of those things as a legitimate slur, |
| [01:00.77] |
is really a problem, you know what I mean? (But the irony of John Mccain) |
| [01:02.59] |
These are slurs, these are category human beings, they are not slurs of people (Applause) |
