The moon pulls the tides high onto the sandy beach... |
though there's more to see than a lifetime could behold, |
we turn and walk into ourselves as if we'd seen it all before |
The orchid blows her incense into the luna moth... |
the night shadows fall dreamlike across my face and next I know |
they'll make their way across my heart |
The maple bends her branches and drops her summer keys... |
where the shadows meet the moonbeams both light and darkness die |
The cricket fiddles tunes across the lonesome night... |
I watch another sunrise with you dreaming at my feet |
I see another daybreak praying for my sleep |
