U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell says he regrets Israel's killing of a top Hamas official, saying it could slow the Mid-east peace process. Mr. Powell spoke in Jordan today at a meeting of the World Economic Forum. He said the incident could be an impediment to progress. The U.S. official joined representatives of the so-called Quartet of Mid-east mediators. They're the United States, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations. The group met on the sidelines of the economic meeting to discuss how to move forward on the Road Map to peace that they have drafted. Meanwhile, the Palestinian militant group Hamas vows revenge for the killing of its senior Hamas official. Israel Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has hailed the raid by the Israeli troops as successful.
