Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has confirmed his plan to begin withdrawing troops from Iraq later this year. Mr. Berlusconi said 300 Italian troops would leave Iraq in September. He spoke at the end of the meeting of the Group of the Eight leaders in Scotland. Italy has about 3,000 troops in Iraq. Opposition to the Iraq War increased in Italy after the United States troops accidently killed an Italian security agent.
