We climbed the hill far from the city wall To the empty mansions and the big graveyard I've not felt this strange since I was a kid That deep down feeling of that sunday emptiness We watched the summer ducklings clean their wings They'll soon find out the coldness winter brings No comfort could be found inside his arms When my head was full of thoughts of cold wet ground And he said I've come to hate your heart 'Cause it's like the rolling sea Restless, hungry and only cruel to me And all the tiny shops had closed their doors And tvs flickered from inside the homes And church bells told us time was passing on But we were far from where we both were from My hands were cold the bus it would not come A crazy woman told us to stay warm But warmth is something I shall never have And my frozen heart's made damn well sure of that
