Why Do We Need Photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is as natural to plants 
as breathing is to people. When sunlight 
touches a plant’s leaves, its energy 
can stimulate electrons inside the water 
molecule. Since water consists of oxygen 
atoms and hydrogen atoms, and atoms 
consist of electrons, this reaction 
splits the atoms’ bonds. Then, oxygen 
joins the air that we all breathe. 
Hydrogen, on the other hand, bonds with 
carbon dioxide from air, making sugar, 
which we can find from our food.
