Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashanah means the “head of the year.”
This is the Jewish New Year.
The celebration lasts for two days.
Following the Jewish calendar, people celebrate
it between September and October.
On the evening of Rosh Hashanah,
all women and girls light the holiday candles.
Then they recite a prayer of blessings together.
For two days, many people gather at the synagogue
to hear the sounds of the shofar
