[00:03.07]Well the world has seven wonders, the travelers always tell: [00:07.27]Some gardens and some towers, [00:09.34]I guess you know them well. [00:12.68]But the greatest wonder is in [00:14.75]Uncle Sam's fair land [00:16.62]It's that King Columbia River and the big Grand Coulee Dam. [00:23.66]She heads up the [00:24.62]Canadian Rockies where the rippling waters glide, [00:27.75]Comes a-rumbling down the canyon to meet that salty tide [00:32.96]Of the wide [00:33.57]Pacific Ocean where the sun sets in the west, [00:36.85]And the big [00:37.46]Grand Coulee country in the land [00:39.53]I love the best. [00:44.09]In the misty crystal glitter of that wild and windward spray, [00:47.98]Men have fought the pounding waters and met a watery grave. [00:54.41]She tore their boats to splinters but she gave men dreams to dream [00:58.20]Of the day the [00:59.21]Coulee Dam would cross that wild and wasted stream. [01:05.38]Uncle Sam took up the challenge in the year of '33 [01:09.38]For the farmer and the factory and all of you and me. [01:14.38]He said, " [01:14.79]Roll along [01:15.69]Columbia. [01:16.36]You can ramble to the sea, [01:18.12]But river while you're ramblin' you can do some work for me." [01:25.26]Now in Washington and [01:26.42]Oregon you hear the factories hum, [01:29.00]Making chrome and making manganese and light aluminum. [01:35.18]And there roars a mighty furnace now to fight for [01:38.11]Uncle Sam, [01:41.18]Spawned upon the [01:42.40]King Columbia by the big [01:43.52]Grand Coulee Dam. [01:47.81]In the misty crystal glitter of that wild and windward spray, [01:51.51]Men have fought the pounding waters and met a watery grave. [01:56.41]She tore their boats to splinters but she gave men dreams to dream [02:00.26]Of the day the [02:01.22]Coulee Dam would cross that wild and wasted stream.
